Cities learn about clean air action planning and clean air reporting trends and methodologies
The 7th Air Quality Management City Workshop for CAI-Asia's City Network in China was recently held in Dalian, PR China on 30 June - 1 July. Despite flight cancellations in Dalian due to weather disturbances, the workshop successfully brought more than twenty representatives from Environmental Protection Bureaus (EPBs) of the ten CAI-Asia’s member cities as well as Shanghai.

The EPB representatives learned about the methodologies and trends in clean air action planning and clean air reporting in China and internationally. They also had an opportunity to learn from Ministry of Environment of China (MEP) the policy implications for cities’ responsibility during China’s 12th Five-Year Plan.
The workshop which started as an annual capacity-building workshop, now a biannual workshop, is jointly organized by the MEP and the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia). CAI-Asia's City AQM Workshops serve as a platform for capacity building, sharing experiences and best practices among cities, and communication between different stakeholders and also provides opportunity for cities to directly communicate with MEP.
The 7th AQM City Workshop for CAI-Asia China City Network was jointly organized by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) of the MEP and CAI-Asia with support from Energy Foundation through the Project “Making Co-benefits Work in Chinese Cities: Clean Air Reports and Action Plans."
