Capacity Building and Social Marketing for Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST)

Objectives:
The purpose of the project is to enhance the capacities of a network of enabled and committed transport-related national and local level institutions. The institutions should be able to effectively identify, promote and undertake EST strategies and initiatives, in support of national progress and development. The project is expected to achieve the following outputs:

• Updated, detailed and comprehensive planning database which will guide agencies in policy-making, planning and implementation of EST projects;
• Stakeholders’ consultation meetings in order to address major issues and problems concerning transportation and the environment and develop effective partnerships among concerned institutions;
• Case studies on effective approaches and best practices in achieving EST objectives and develop innovative knowledge products such as toolkits, guidebooks, manuals and training curricula on EST project identification, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
• A web portal that will provide up-to-date information to all concerned stakeholders, as well as, on-line collaborative tools to enhance networking among institutional partners; and
• Conduct of at least three (3) regional training/seminars and one (1) national conference to promote awareness on EST.
