Description:
1. The project’s main objective is that the Department of Environment (DoE) and other institutions responsible for air quality are implementing measures for air pollution control.
2. The project has the following components and outputs:
• Revise and develop existing and new emission standards, respectively for mobile and stationary sources and their
enforcement
• Improve fuel quality and introduce fuel quality monitoring procedures;
• Develop a more sustainable urban development by integrating transport and land-use planning with clean air issues;
• Promote inter-institutional cooperation and commitment to air quality;
• Develop effective strategies for social communication and participation
• Strengthen international cooperation with respect to climate protection, regional and local air pollution;
• Improve data quality (monitoring of air quality, emission inventories) and scientific base (health and other effects);
• Promote business contacts between relevant Malaysian and German/European Industries
