Objectives:
NRDC has worked with Chinese scientists and policy makers to accelerate the development and demonstration of advanced coal technologies with carbon capture and storage (CCS), and helped the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Technology develop a roadmap on commercial scale demonstration of Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) and coal gasification-based polygeneration. Currently, we are collaborating with top American and Chinese researchers on a major report to highlight near-term CCS opportunities in China.

Objective:
To accelerate the development and commercial scale application of CCS and other low-carbon energy technologies in China.
